ইংরেজি Grammar ও বাংলা ব্যাকরণ এর মধ্যে কিছু পার্থক্য আছে, সেটা নিচের লেখা পড়ে অনুধাবন করুন।
ইংরেজি শব্দ 'Grammar'
Grammar শব্দটি গ্রিক শব্দ Grammatike থেকে এসেছে। - The word Grammar comes from the Greek word Grammatike. Grammatike শব্দের পূর্ণ রূপ হলো Grammatike , যার অর্থ অক্ষর বিষয়ক শিল্প। - The full form of Grammatike is Grammatike techne, which means the art of letters. এটি আবার গ্রিক শব্দ Gramma থেকে এসেছে, যার অর্থ অক্ষর বা বর্ণ। - It again comes from the Greek word Gramma, which means letter or alphabet. Gramma শব্দটি এসেছে Graphein থেকে, যার অর্থ লেখা। - The word Gramma comes from Graphein, which means to write.
তাই মূল উৎস Graphein, কিন্তু শেষ রূপ Grammar. - So the original source is Graphein, but the final form is Grammar
প্রথম যখন Grammar শব্দটির উদ্ভব হয়েছিল, তখন শুধু বর্ণ, অক্ষর, বানান ও লেখার নিয়ম নিয়েই আলোচনা হতো। - When the word Grammar first originated, it only discussed letters, characters, spelling and writing rules.
কারণ তখন গ্রিকদের কাছে শিক্ষিত হওয়া মানেই ছিল সঠিকভাবে লিখতে ও পড়তে পারা। - Because at that time, for the Greeks, being educated meant being able to write and read correctly.
তাই Grammatike techne মানে ছিল শুধু বর্ণ শেখার কৌশল। - So Grammatike techne meant only the technique of learning letters.
কিন্তু এখন ব্যাপক অর্থে ব্যবহার করা হয়। - But now it is used in a broad sense.
এখন Grammar মানে শুধু বর্ণ নয়, বরং একটি ভাষার পূর্ণাঙ্গ নিয়ম। - Now Grammar means not only letters, but the complete rules of a language.
যেমন: বর্ণ, শব্দ, বাক্য, বানান, উচ্চারণ, অর্থ সবকিছুই এর অন্তর্ভুক্ত। - For example: letters, words, sentences, spelling, pronunciation, meaning - everything is included in it.
সংজ্ঞা: যে শাস্ত্রে কোনো ভাষার নিয়ম-কানুন, গঠনপ্রণালী নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়, তাকে Grammar বা ব্যাকরণ বলে। - Definition: The branch of knowledge that deals with the rules and structure of a language is called Grammar.
বাংলা শব্দ 'ব্যাকরণ'
ব্যাকরণ শব্দটি এসেছে সংস্কৃত থেকে। - The word Byakaran comes from Sanskrit.
বি + আ + কৃ + অন = ব্যাকরণ। - Bi + A + Kri + An = Byakaran.
বি অর্থ বিশেষ ভাবে - Bi means specially
আ অর্থ সম্যক ভাবে - A means completely
কৃ অর্থ করা/ ক্রিয়া - Kri means to do /verb
অন অর্থ বিশ্লেষণ - An means analysis
তাই ব্যাকরণ অর্থ বিশেষভাবে বিশ্লেষণ করা। - So Byakaran means to analyze specially.
সংজ্ঞা: যে শাস্ত্রে বাংলা ভাষার নিয়ম-কানুন বিশ্লেষণ করা হয়, তাকে বাংলা ব্যাকরণ বলে। - The branch of knowledge that analyzes the rules of Bengali language is called Bengali Grammar.
