Auxiliary verb Helping Verb সাহায্যকারী ক্রিয়া

 Auxiliary Verb মানে সাহায্যকারী Verb। মূল Verb কে Tense, Negative, Question বানাতে সাহায্য করে।

Auxiliary Verb এমন একটি Verb যা ক্রিয়ার কাল বা ভাব প্রকাশ করতে Principal Verb কে সাহায্য করে সেজন্য একে সাহায্যকারী ক্রিয়া বা Helping Verb ও বলে। An Auxiliary Verb is one which helps a principal verb to form a tense or mood or voice. Hence it is also called a Helping Verb.

Auxiliary Verb মোট ২৪ টি

am, is, are, was, were, have, has, had, do, does, did, can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, ought to, need, dare, used to

Auxiliary Verb দুই ভাগে বিভক্ত

১. Primary Auxiliary / Tense Auxiliary

২. Modal Auxiliary

Primary Auxiliary কে তিন ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়।

1. Do verb : do, does, did

2. Have verb : have, has, had

3. Be verb : am, is, are, was, were (be, being, been)

এরা Main verb হিসেবেও বসতে পারে। যেমন- 

I am a student.

She had a cow.

They did it.

Modal Auxiliary গুলো হলো:- 

can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, ought to, need, dare, used to

এদের পর সবসময় base form (V1) বসে। কখনো s/es যোগ হয় না।

*Core 9 টি:* can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must

*Marginal 2 টি:* ought to, need, dare

 Semi-Modal / Semi-Auxiliary - আধা সাহায্যকারী

Modal + Primary এর মতো কাজ করে।

have to, has to, had to, used to, be going to, be about to, had better, would rather

এগুলো পরে সবসময় verb1 বসে। Example: 

I have to go. I used to play cricket.

Auxiliary Verb এর কাজ

১. Main verb কে সাহায্য করা।

He will go.  She was making tea.

২. Negative গঠনে সাহায্য করা

He loves me.

Negative হবে He does not hate me (without change) অথবা He does not love me.

Negative করলে ঐ sentence এর verb সবসময় verb1 এ লিখতে হবে।

৩. প্রশ্ন তৈরিতে সাহায্য করা

He goes to school.

Does he go to school? অথবা, Does not he go to school?

মনে রাখবে চিরকালের জন্য,

Present Indefinite Tense এ do/ does বসে।  এবং Past Indefinite Tense এ did বসে।

🌹 Subject যদি 3rd person Singular Number হয়, তাহলে Does বসে।

এবং বাদবাকি সব ক্ষেত্রে do বসে।
